2010 PERTH MAGIC MILLIONS YEARLING SALE - HEYTESBURY DRAFT PREVIEW

Heytesbury Stud will present a total of 33 yearlings at the upcoming Magic Millions Yearling Sales in January. The Heytesbury draft will contain yearlings by the following prominent sires Bel Esprit, Blackfriars, Bletchley Park, Delago Brom, Due Sasso, Flying Pegasus, Helenus, Hurricane Sky, Lord Dane, Saxon, Startac and Strategic.

 

The 2010 Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sales will feature the debut crop of resident Heytesbury sire Saxon. Saxon has been very well supported by WA Breeder’s, by the end of 2009 season he will have covered over 330 mares in his first three seasons at stud. His first crop yearlings will feature highly through the Heytesbury draft and in general through the Perth Magic Millions Yearling Sale Catalogue. A total of 33 Saxon yearlings will be offered for sale by WA Breeder’s in January 2010.

Lot 12 – Saxon ex Eulalie

 

From a Melbourne metropolitan winning Strategic mare Eulalie, this bay colt is faultless as an individual; he is made up of good size, good bone and great strength. By resident Heytesbury sire Saxon, Lot 12 is closely related to AJC Emancipation Stakes G2 winner Heather, and AJC Kindergarten Stakes G3 winner, Peat Bog. Inspection will not disappoint.

 

Lot 22 – Strategic ex Final Ransom (USA)

 

A classic looking colt by the outstanding Strategic, the sire of almost 400 winners including 20 at stakes level. He is from a 2yo winning imported Red Ransom mare. A very impressive colt, he is also a ¾ relation to two multiple G1 winners in Assertive Lad (8 wins incl. the AJC Sires Produce Stakes G1 & Champagne Stakes G1) and Assertive Lass (7 wins incl. the AJC Flight Stakes G1 & STC Coolmore Classic G1).

 

Lot 72 – Saxon ex Johann’s Dream

 

A flashy bay colt by Saxon, from the stakes performed, multiple winning 2yo filly Johann’s Dream. Black type performers close to Lot 72 include Regal Crown (4 wins), Cat In A Hat (10 wins), Martelomeo (4 wins) and Danaides (1 win).

 

Lot 115 – Saxon ex Lonicera

 

Lovely filly with great scope and leg, Lot 115 is by new season sire Saxon, from the stakes performed 4 time winning Chanteclair mare Lonicera, a full sister to the very talented 2yo Climb The Vine (2wins) including the WATC Karrakatta Plate G2. Just the third foal from Lonicera, it is worth noting that her second foal now a 2yo is also a filly already an impressive trial winner for trainer Lou Luciani.

 

Lot 151 – Saxon ex Miss Caro

 

One of the stand out colts on pedigree and type. From a stakes performed and multiple stakes producing Cheraw mare, Miss Caro. An eye catching grey, this colt is also a ¾ relation to the stakes performed Mr Hoy Polloy.

 

Lot 167 – Saxon ex Mystic Amber

 

A Saxon colt from Old Spice mare Mystic Amber, who is a full sister to the four time Group 1 winning Old Comrade, one of the best sprinter milers produced from Western Australia. Stakes performed colts closely related to Lot 167 include News Review (11 wins), Power Prince (14 wins), Powerful Prince (8 wins), Old Comrade (6 wins) and All The Aces (3 wins).

 

Lot 189 – Saxon ex Penniless

 

A strong bay by Saxon, this colt is the first colt from the winning and three time winner producing Green Line Express mare, Penniless. Lot 189 is a full relation to the metropolitan winning 2yo Conquista and a ¾ relation to the highly promising Intertidal (2 wins at 2), for trainer Gerald Ryan this season. A family littered with no less than 9 individual 2yo winners including the talented Group 1 performed racehorse and sire, Laranto.

 

Lot 192 – Saxon ex Pomp Aplenty

 

An impressive bay filly by new season sire and multiple group winning racehorse, Saxon. Lot 192 is from the metropolitan 2yo winning Royal Abjar mare Pomp Aplenty. A strong stakes performed and stakes producing Western Australian pedigree that is all class.

 

Lot 226 – Saxon ex Safety Valve

 

An athletic, correct filly, this Saxon yearling presents very well to buyers seeking residual value in their yearlings after racing. She is a ½ sister to 5 individual winners, 3 at stakes level, none more notable than the richly talented Kasabian, winner of his past 6 race starts, culminating in the Group 3 Asian Beau stakes in 2009, before unfortunately going amiss on the eve of this year’s Railway Stakes, for which he was strongly fancied.

 

Lot 252 – Saxon ex Snatch

 

Well grown bay filly by Saxon with a black type family, she is a ½ relation to the stakes performed Bel Epic and a ¾ relation to the classy Group 1 performed sprinter, Kingsgate (6 wins). An exciting filly with both racing potential and residual value for breeding.

 

Lot 278 – Saxon ex Supersoft

 

A ¾ relation to the smart stakes winning Coincidental (9 wins). This bay colt is by Saxon and only the second foal from unraced mare Supersoft by Snippets, one of Australasia’s most successful sires and now one of this country’s most successful broodmare producing sires. This colt’s impeccable pedigree has also produced one of Australia’s foremost sprinters in Primacy (9 wins incl. VRC Newmarket Hcp G1, Nissan Stakes G1, CF Orr Stakes G1, Futurity Stakes G1) etc.

 

Lot 288 – Saxon ex Tesstar

 

A Saxon colt from the winning Testa Rossa mare Tesstar, her first foal already an Ascot 2yo placegetter in the 2009-10 season for trainer Lou Luciani. A very forward mature colt from a strong black type family, he will impress.

 

Lot 293 – Saxon ex Tissot

 

By first season sire Saxon, Lot 293 is an early December foal, and will furnish into an athletic type with good scope. From multiple winning stakes performed Laranto mare Tissot, herself a sister to the stakes winning Supranto. This colt is just the second foal and the first colt from a strong WA pedigree that includes Group 1 performed Wabasso (11 wins).

 

Lot 308 – Saxon ex True M’Lady

 

A very forward well developed, young colt from the stakes performed True M’Lady, herself a multiple 2yo winner by champion broodmare sire Is It True. By Saxon, this colt is a ½ relation to 4 individual winners. A stronger type you won’t find.

An impeccable filly by new season son of Danehill, Saxon, from one of the best filly and mare producing family’s in the catalogue. A strong correct colt that stands over good ground, he is the first foal from the 5 time winning Metal Storm mare with stakes earnings of $100k. Celestina is a full sister to the stakes winners Oxidation, Metallurgy and to the dam of Beat The Storm. This colt’s pedigree is also complemented by Group 1 form, his dam also being a ¾ sister to Old Fashion, winner of the Group 1 Railway Stakes.

The first colt from Second Empire mare Strike Twice, this bay yearling is by residential Heytesbury sire Saxon, a multiple Group winning son of Danehill.

 

Lot 577 – Startac (USA) ex True Pixie

 

A chestnut colt by the first season sire Startac, the Group 1 winner of 5 races including 2 at 2 years of age. A correct, well grown colt from a winning ½ sister to the good metropolitan performers Silver Omen (3 wins) and Royal Cobra (8 wins and stakes earnings of $240k). A first foal from a 3 time winning 2yo in Geil, whom was also stakes placed at 3. Herself a daughter of an exceptional 2yo in Arabella, the 2yo stakes winner of the WATC Sires Produce, G3. This filly is by the Group 1 winning sire Bel Esprit a winner of 5 at 2 years of age. A quick return is in your favour.

 

Lot 99 – Bletchley Park (IRE) ex La Lollobrigida

 

By evergreen sire Bletchley Park the sire to date of over 320 individual winners, including 26 stakes winners. This yearling colt is just the third foal from the multiple winning Dauberval mare La Lollobrigida, whose pedigree is littered with numerous stakes winning and stakes performers, including classy sprinters such as Ripped (8 wins), Summer Silence (6 wins), Surfside Lady (3 wins) etc.
